Dear Parents,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Liwa International School for Girls, the only international girls’ school in Al Ain.
I am passionate about education, having worked in schools in the UK, Spain and UAE for over 17 years. This is my eighth year working in the UAE but my first time living in Al Ain! I am a qualified Head, hold a Masters in Education and will continue my learning journey this year by embarking on an Executive MBA. Never stop learning!
I am delighted to be joining LISG at a time when the UAE is embracing innovation and change and providing exciting opportunities for young women to play key leadership roles. There are many young, inspirational Emirati females leading the way: Reem Al Marzouqi, inventor and engineer, Nora al-Matrooshi, first female astronaut and Nouf Abdelhamid Omar, pilot, to name but a few. As a female leader, I am equally inspired by young women around the world who are being empowered to make a difference and leave their legacy.
Furthermore, I know how important it is to ensure our students are ready and equipped for the future. Here at LISG, we are passionate about empowering our students to think big, to understand that ambition should be limitless. We want to foster a generation of lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and creative problem solvers who will be the changemakers and problem solvers of the future. The 2020 Future of Jobs report by the World Economic Forum highlights that in the next five years, new jobs will be reserved for data analysts, scientists, software and applications developers. The LISG Class of 2021 are fully prepared for this; our graduates have chosen to study Computer Engineering, Medicine, Physics and Astronomy and Aerospace Engineering. We look forward to celebrating their success and achievements in the near future.
Our multinational, highly qualified teachers are skilled in using a range of online platforms, interactive resources in an inclusive and supportive environment; whether online or in school, our teachers deliver a high-quality curriculum ensuring that students are happy, challenged and supported. This year, we are looking forward to our students participating once again in a range of extra-curricular activities, student leadership initiatives as well as community-based projects. No doubt there will be challenges along the way; we don’t grow when things are easy!
I look forward to an exciting new year ahead and the opportunity to work closely in partnership with you and your children.
